Scholarship Recipients
First and foremost, I want to thank God for guiding my way and enabling me to encounter such an organization as this one. As a current junior Biology major at Grambling State University, receiving the R.I.S.E. Shreveport scholarship provided me with the opportunity of not having to seek employment while attending college. I was able to dedicate more time to my education, participate in extracurricular activities, and be a steward to the community. I am on track to graduate Fall 2026 and I plan to return to Texas to begin my medical school journey.

2023 R.I.S.E. Scholarship Recipient
I am so thankful to have been awarded the R.I.S.E. Scholarship. I am by no means a "traditional" college student, prior to attending Louisiana Tech University, I attended Bossier Parish Community College and earned a degree in Medical Coding and Billing and a Medical Unit Coordinator certification. This scholarship has assisted me in taking care of some of the costs I have as a student at Louisiana Tech. This scholarship has been such a blessing in helping me continue my education, I am set to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in May 2025. After | graduate, I plan on attending the University of Texas at Tyler to earn my PharmD.
